In just ten days, most of us will be seeing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, for the first time. Not many people have currently seen it, but we know that at least one of them, George Lucas, is very happy with the final product. For me, one of the best things that JJ Abrams did when he directed The Force Awakens, was to bring back the original focus to practical effects. I have no doubt that there will be tons of CGI in this movie, but it’s not going to be like what we experienced in the prequels.
In a new featurette, released earlier today, we get a closer look at some of the amazing practical creature effects being done for the film. Honestly, they do not disappoint. I’d be shocked if there wasn’t at least an Oscar nomination in there somewhere based on the effects for the film.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 15th.
