There’s a lot up in the air right now with Star Wars. Boba Fett didn’t turn out to be the hit that a lot of fans were expecting it to be, no one seems to care about the upcoming Cassian Andor series and all of the hopes and dreams of both Star Wars fans and studio execs seem to rest on whether or not the upcoming Obi Wan Kenobi series can stick the landing. For that reason, we take any news of a new Star Wars project with a massive pillar of salt. There seem to be more announced projects that never materialize at this point than ones that do. With that… here’s the scoop.
A new report from The Ankler has Lost Co-Creator and The Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof in talks for his own Star Wars film over at Disney. His representatives are declining to comment at this time, but there does seem to be a lot of hints that it could be true.
Now, the interesting thing about Lindelof is that he’s known for some pretty big hits and misses, so fans might be a little nervous about him. While he was the co-creator of Lost and he shepherded Watchman onto HBO Max, he’s also responsible for serious duds like Tomorrowland and Cowboys & Aliens. Not to mention that his work on Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness feels like it was a little too close in line with the Reboot sequel style that has led episodes 7-9 to be some of the most contentious among fandom.
As soon as any real news hits, we’ll have it for you here.
