There are a lot of rumors floating around out there right now about the Star Wars universe. It’s hard to too which ones might be true and which ones are just wishes from a divided fanbase. One of the biggest rumors in the last week was that the one Star Wars spin-off that fans have wanted (Obi-Wan) could be delayed or canceled because of the financial losses associated with Solo: A Star Wars Story.
So now there’s this new rumor popping up in The Sun. According to their sources, Ewan McGregor has been tapped to appear as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a few scenes of JJ Abram’s Star Wars Episode IX. They go on to draw the conclusion that this means the spin-off film is dead.
Personally, the line they are drawing from point a to point b seems a bit shaky. If the rumor that McGregor is appearing in Episode IX is true, it would make far more sense that they are using it as a trial balloon to see what the fan excitement level is among fans for seeing more of him.
