So far, the results of the Disney Star Wars purchase have been pretty great. Rebels has been an excellent animated series and things are looking up for The Force Awakens. Sadly, one of the victims of the merger was a new animated comedy series created by Robot Chicken’s Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. The show was announced back at Star Wars Celebration VI, complete with a surprise appearance by George Lucas at the panel. But, when Disney took over, the show got shelved.
Now, the folks at Jedi News have heard that the show, Star Wars Detours, may finally get released digitally this May as part of a massive cache of digital media that also might include digital releases of the first three films.
Right now, we know that 39 episodes have actually been produced, but the rumor is that only 30 will see release. That could either just be bad intel, or maybe 9 of them didn’t pass by Disney’s family standards office. Check out the sizzle reel for the show. It looks like it really could be a lot of fun.
