If you ever read The Infinity Gauntlet, you know one of the most exciting aspects of the story was that it brought literally every hero into play in one way or another. Hell, even Sleepwalker had a part in it. As we grow closer to seeing the cinematic adaptation of the story from the Russo Bros, who just brought us an amazing adaptation of Civil War in their last Captain America film, there are still many questions about how many heroes will make it to the film?
In a new interview with the Toronto Sun, the Russos talked about whether it is finally time for the Netflix street level heroes to get called up to the big leagues.
While, he was unwilling to spill the beans, Anthony Russo said, ““We do consider everyone. We don’t want to get too specific about what’s going to happen with these movies. We want these movies to be a surprise for audiences.”
Sure, even if they do make the cut, they aren’t going to be in the film for very long. Think closer to the appearances by Spider-Man or Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War. Thankfully, The Russo Bros have already proven with those two examples, that they know how to make great characters shine, even when they don’t have a ton of screen time. Anthony actually went on to further discuss exactly that.
“What we did in Civil War is exactly what we want to do in the Avengers — no matter how much screen time a character has, you can still have a lot of ambition for what you do with that character while you have them.”
So, does this mean that we’ll be seeing Jessica Jones, DareDevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and possibly The Punisher in the Infinity War? I’d say we probably have about a 40% chance of that happening, but man would it be cool!
