Sam Raimi’s ‘The Shadow’ Picked Up By Fox

Sam Raimi may be out of a job as the next Spider-Man director, but it doesn’t mean he’s sitting at home twiddling his thumbs. Okay, maybe he is, as he’s now he’s reportedly handing the director’s reign to his film “The Shadow” over to David Slade (30 Days of Night).

According to Latino Review, Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man, Darkman) had purchased the rights to “The Shadow” a 1940’s radio show and pulp novel, but hadn’t been active with it. Sony, who held the rights to the film has since sold it to Fox.

Now according to reports, David Slade will director while Raimi is set to produce. David Slade is currently working on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

If “The Shadow” sounds familiar to you, it’s because it has already been done in 1994 with Alec Baldwin starring as Lamont Cranston, The Shadow.
