The new trailer for the second season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” was shown today as well as panel appearances by show creators Frank Darabont, Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman, and Greg Nicotero.
The panel mostly consisted of production discussion regarding inconsistencies with scripts from the first season and how the team has rectified it in the second season. According to Kirkman, the response to the show was huge and it has motivated everyone to go bigger and do better.
The second season will pick up and start immediately from where the characters were left off in the first season, escaping the CDC. Every character will have a role and it’ll be even more character driven, where the monsters are not with the walking dead but within.
Here’s a quick description from the trailer that was shown (once the trailer goes live, we’ll have it so be sure to check back):
It begins with Shane running away from a horde of zombies. He’s then taken them out with a shotgun. We see a title card telling us that there will be mistrust among the survivors. We then see the group on a road littered with abandoned cars. Coast seems clear until one zombie is spotted… and them more. It follows up with a lot of quick cuts of sheer terror among the survivors.
The new season will premiere on Sunday, October 16th.
