While it was known that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were not going to actually appear at the panel for Sherlock, the pair was kind enough to make video messages to send to the fans. IN attendance, were Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and producer Sue Vertue.

Fans got a kick out of seeing Freeman in full Hobbit guise, while Cumberbatch appeared in more casual attire.

While talking about his work on the show, Cumberbatch mentioned to fans that the show is “more fun making than watching.”

After that, the panel showed a clip from an upcoming episode which featured nearly five minutes of footage of Holmes delivering a best man speech at Watson’s wedding.

spoilers on upcoming shows were kept secret at the panel, but they did mention that the character of Mycroft Holmes, as portrayed by Gatiss, would be coming back.

Moffat also teased the crowd with prospect of a film for the said: “It’s an interesting thought, but we’d never want to do something that reduced the quality of the show.”

When you’ve got Steven Moffat in a panel, you know he won’t be getting out without a Dr Who question… even though there is still a Doctor Who panel set for Hall H on the 21st. One fan asked him about the prospect
