SDCC 2014 – King Kong Set To Return In Legendary Pictures’ SKULL ISLAND

One of the unexpected highlights of today’s Legendary Panel in Hall H of Comic Con was the announcement of a new King Kong film. The movie, will actually be based around Skull Island, the infamous locale that has always been the cinematic home of Kong. In the panel, they said that they wanted to take the audience deeper into Skull Island than any other film had done in the past.

They showed a teaser for the film, that initially caused some groans because the audience was hoping it was going to be a teaser for the upcoming Jurassic World, but left them all satisfied in the end.

In the teaser, we get to see the jungle, surrounded by water, cut in are images of monkeys, dinosaurs, etc… The narrator then says: “It’s very existence being improbable. Being alone in the wilderness had driven it mad. We penetrated deeper and deeper into the heart of darkness.” It then shows Kong, giving his signature chest pound and roar.
