The CW has released the first trailer for their all-new animated series “Vixen,” based on the DC comics character.

When Mari McCabe’s parents were killed, she inherits her family’s Tantu Totem which gives her the ability to access the powers of animals. Using her new found powers, she becomes the Vixen, and fights to protect the world from threats like those that claimed her family.

Megalyn Echikunwoke (“The Following,” “The 4400″) will voice the title character in the series which is set to last six episodes. Lead characters from both “Arrow” and “The Flash” will lend their voices to the series too including Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, Emily Bett Rickards, and Carlos Valdes. “Arrow” showrunner Marc Guggenheim is set to executive produce the series which will premiere this fall on the CW Seed platform.

Created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner in 1981, Vixen first appeared in Action Comics #521 complete with her animal mimicking abilities. The character has gone on to be a member of the Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and even the Justice League of America.
