CBS along executive product Bryan Fuller announced today that the upcoming Star Trek series will be called “Star Trek: Discovery.”
Moreover, the title will keep with the trend that the show is named after the signature ship, which in this new series is the USS Discovery, designation U.S.S. Discovery (NCC-1031). Aside from the new title, Fuller confirmed that the new series will be more sequential rather than episodic. This was done to tell a better story in a long format and to better suit the streaming platform it’ll be released on.
