Marvel Studios has been killing it in their massive panel, but perhaps the film most were waiting for is the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
From the panel we learn that this new Spider-Man film will not be an origins story, but features sort of a day in the life of a young Peter Parker (Tom Holland). While no plot was revealed, we do know it will predominately focus on his high school life.
Director Jon Watts even called it “a straight-up high school movie, about a 15-year old kid.”
In addition, we have confirmation that the Vulture (Michael Keaton) will indeed be the villain.
Production for the film is only about a week in, but fans attending the panel did get a short sizzle reel of Peter hanging out in high school with friends with girls talking about which superhero they have crushes on. One admits she has a thing for Spider-Man and Parker is taken back by it. The teaser ends with a shot of the Vulture flying towards the camera.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017.
