Oh how I wish I could share the footage that was screened in Hall H for Marvel’s Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man and Wasp. Sadly, you’ll just have to make do with our recap.
Black Panther
The most important thing to know about this footage is that it brought all of Hall H to its feet.
In the footage, we started off with T’Challa, Okoye, and Nakia staking out a casino as Ulysses Klaue
and CIA Agent Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) have a clandestine meeting to exchange diamonds for uranium. Okoye intercedes in the deal and starts beating up Ulysses’ henchmen. It turns into a big fight scene with guns and all that fun stuff before T’Challa confronts Klaue, whose fake arm turns out to be a laser gun. T’Challa takes cover and narrowly avoids death.
The scene is followed by a montage of various action scenes from the film including skydiving and flipping over cars before coming back to the face of Michael B Jordan’s, Killmonger. After a few words between them, Killmonger puts on his own version of the Black Panther Costume and attacks as he and our hero fall down a giant hole.
Ant-Man and the Wasp
While the footage shown for Ant-Man and the Wasp wasn’t as extensive as what we saw for Black Panther or Thor: Ragnarok, we did get to see the new logo and some great animatics. We got to see Michael Douglas’ Henry Pym in his own, all-white Ant-Man Suit, a bunch of shots of the Wasp in action, and a shot of Wasp flying, with Ant-Man riding a flying ant beside her.
Thor: Ragnarok
In addition to one of the best movie trailers that’s ever been created, (Watch it HERE, if you haven’t already seen it!), We also got to see one one of the scenes that leads up to the eventual fight between Hulk and Thor. In the clip, we see Thor chained to a chair, going through what appears to be a hallucination. Next, we see him in the throne room of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster as he and Valkyrie haggle over the price that he’ll have to pay to buy the god of thunder. Finally, we see the prison where the Grandmaster keeps his property and we meet Korg, a rock creature with a sense of humor that tells Thor, the only way out is to beat The Grandmaster’s challenger (Hulk).
