A great new trailer for Netflix’s Defenders just popped online care of Netflix Korea. So, while the trailer isn’t directly from Comic Con, I’m still going to count it as it features some news that is sure to be a big part of the Defenders panel tomorrow. That news is that it looks like Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will be joining the party. As to whether this was always part of the plan or a revision in the script after a less than stellar reception to the Iron Fist series, I don’t know, but it’s still great to see and has me even more pumped for this mini-series that will bring those two heroes together with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.
With all that said, the true star of this trailer is Stan Lee. He narrated the entire thing and is featured on camera for much of it. This is a must see for all true believers. Excelsior!
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
