SDCC 2022 – What If…? Season 2 and Marvel Zombies Presentation

When it comes to Marvel animation, the MCU is what people want to know about and that means both the return of What If…? and its spin-off, Marvel Zombies. Today, both got some time at the Marvel animation panel, so let’s go over the bullet points for you.

What If…? Season 2

• The new season is set to arrive during 2023.
• Some of the stories will include Tony Stark going to Sakaar with Valkrie, Odin facing off against the Mandarin, Hela’s Return, Captain Carter going up against her own Winter Soldier (The Hydra Stomper), and an adaptation of Niel Gaiman’s Marvel 1602 story.
• If you were worried that we saw the last of Captain Carter in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, don’t worry. That was the Captain of a different Earth.
• Season 3 has already been green-lit

Marvel Zombies

• The New series will be TV-MA, a first for Disney+ animation.
• The good guys will be Yelena, Katy (Shang-Chi), Kate Bishop, Red Guardian, Jimmy Woo, Death Dealer, Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel
• The Zombies will be Hawkeye, Captain America, Abomination, Ghost, Captain Marvel, Wanda, Okoye
• Ikaris will appear as someone who as been infected, but has not completely turned into a zombie
