Shane Black who was recently revealed as the new director of “Iron Man 3,” announced recently that he would also be working on the script.
In an appearance at the Omaha Film Festival, Black revealed what he had in mind for the third installment for Marvel’s Shellhead. According to Black, the studio was not thrilled with the direction “Iron Man 2” took and that the third film will be more like a Tom Clancy thriller with Iron man fighting real world villains.
Black also mentioned that “Iron Man 3” would be a self-contained single-character story. Because the film will be made after “The Avengers,” it will not feature any other heroes from the Marvel Universe. What it is essentially, is a reboot of sorts, so there will be no crossovers or other characters.
“Iron Man 3” is currently scheduled for a May 3rd, 2013 release.
