Fans were caught off guard at the tail end of the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer a few days ago when a character who looked suspiciously like Abomination was fighting in the ring with a character who looked familiar, but a lot of people couldn’t quite place. We now have actual confirmation from MCU uberboss, Kevin Feige, that the two contenders in the ring were none other than Abomination and Wong.
When asked about it by RottenTomatoes, here’s what Feige had to say:
“Yes, we just recently released the final trailer for Shang-Chi,” he started. “Some fans said, ‘This looks like a character they hadn’t seen in many years named The Abomination, fighting a character that looks like Wong. And I can say that the reason it looks like that is because that is Abomination fighting Wong.”
