For Daredevil fans who only know Matt Murdock from his time on Netflix, seeing him in a yellow costume may come as a bit of a surprise, but long-time fans know that’s how he was dressed at the beginning, and he’s gone back to it a few times over the years. Still, it seems a little weird to put him back in the yellow costume for his return later this season in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
We haven’t seen more than just his hand at the end of one of the trailers, but we now know why Daredevil will be donning his bright-yellow and red duds. In a new interview with the show’s head writer, Jessica Gao, she explained that the choice on the costume wasn’t theirs. It came from upstairs.
“Usually how they do it is they kind of let us propose what we want to do rather than give us guidelines. When they first told us that [Daredevil] was a possibility we just couldn’t believe it. And as we were coming up with story and what we wanted him to do, the fact that they kept not saying no was shocking to us.”
“The one thing that I didn’t have control of was the suit. They knew exactly what they wanted the suit to look like.”
