Fans are going to be waiting a long time for new episodes of The BBC’s Doctor Who. After all, both Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are now very highly sought after Hollywood commodities. Thankfully though, Stephen Moffat seems to be borrowing a page from his own Doctor Who handbook and will be putting out a Sherlock Christmas Special. That said, don’t get your hopes up that you’ll see that anytime soon either. It’s not planned for release until December 2015.
Here’s what Freeman told the Telegraph:
“If that’s going to be a special – I’m speaking off-message here; if this was New Labour I’d get fired – I think that might be for next Christmas. A Christmas special. That’s what I understand.”
