Buzz on X-Men: Days of Future Past is so good that Fox is trusting its scribe with the reboot of another one of their big Marvel franchises.
It’s now being reported that Simon Kinberg will be hopping on the FF train and rewriting and co-producing the Fantastic Four reboot with Matthew Vaughn.
The film, which is set for a March 2015 release is set to get a substantial overhaul under Kinberg before being turned over to Chronicle director, Josh Trank, for filming.
We don’t know all that much about the movie, but we do know the following.
1. Michael B Jordan is still said to be in as The Human Torch.
2. The movie will supposedly cross over with the X-Men film universe. Here’s what Fox’s resident Marvel guru had to say on the matter:
“Following that Marvel model, we want to establish things first. If you had a Fantastic Four relaunch, and Wolverine and the X-Men were in it, I think it would distract you from the Fantastic Four. You can make people aware that they’re existing in the same universe without making it a big crossover movie but it would be an injustice to the Fantastic Four not to make their first movie all about them.”
