Just a quick update for you all on yesterday’s story about Adult Swim firing Rick and Morty Co-Creator and lead voice actor yesterday. The firing stems from pending charges that allege both felony domestic assault and unlawful imprisonment. Additionally, Roiland has been allegedly involved in inappropriate online behavior with at least one underage teen according to several sources online. Last night the network announced that they were cutting all ties with Roiland and preparing to recast the voice roles of both Rick and Morty.
Today, Hulu is following up with the announcement that they are also cutting ties with Roiland. He is the Co-Creator and one of the lead voices on their series, Solar Opposites. He is also a voice actor in the new series, Koala Man. In a statement to Variety, 20th Television had this simple message:
“We have ended our association with Justin Roiland.”
Neither Solar Opposites nor Koala Man are expecting any interruption in their production schedules.
