Sonic The Hedgehog might just be the comeback story of the last few years when it comes to movies. After a disastrous first trailer release (That we are still convinced was planned to go bad), the studio went back to the drawing board and re-designed Sonic so that he’d be more accurate to his look in the video games and less likely to cause night terrors for the kids who go see it in theaters.
Now, like Tylenol after they added tamper-proof caps, Sonic is back with the full support of the public. With the release of the film just a couple of weeks away (on Valentine’s Day), the studio has dropped $5 million on a Super Bowl spot and however much else it costs to get Michael Thomas, Christian McCaffrey, Allyson Felix, and Kyle Busch to all pimp the movie for them.
