While Sony waits to find out if Venom is going to be box office gold or a turd in the wind, they are also moving forward with a slew of additional spiderverse films. First up, we just found out that Silver and Black, which was recently pulled from the release schedule has been cancelled. Instead, Sony will give Silver Sable and Black Cat their own solo films. Don’t be surprised if they have an eye towards bringing them together in a future team-up film.
Meanwhile, Varierty is reporting that spiderverse characters Silk, Jackpot, and Nightwatch are all slated for their own films as well. No writers or directors are officially attached, Spike Lee has been reportedly showing interest in making a Nightwatch film. It would be hard to imagine a world in which Sony turns down the chance to get him on board for a superhero film.
