They’ve been talking about making a sequel to last year’s hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse since almost before the movie came out and wowed fans and critics alike, but it’s taken them until today to make it official. We now know a new film is heading our way. We just have to be patient because it won’t be here until 2022.
If the old interviews with Sony’s Amy Pascal still hold true, the new film will take a deeper look at the budding relationship between Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. We have to imagine that the original cast of Miles Morales ( Shameik Moore), Wilson Fisk (Liev Schrieber), Earth-1610’s Peter Parker (Chris Pine), Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), and Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn) will all be back, but we can’t wait to see which other members of the Spider-Verse will appear. At this point, it’s even possible that Tom Hardy’s Venom could pop in for a visit.
