‘Spiral: From The Book of Saw’Full Trailer For ‘Saw’ Requel Starring Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson

After a long COVID Delay, the first full trailer is out for ‘Spiral: From the Book of Saw’, the reboot sequel to the Saw movie franchise from Chris Rock. This time around, Rock is the detective and he’s chasing down a copycat of the Jigsaw killer who the trailer seems to want to make us could believe is his father in the film (Samuel L. Jackson).

The Saw franchise is a stone that had the last drops of blood squeezed from it years ago. It’s not surprising that we are getting a new chapter, because the IP still has some marketability. Having Rock on board as both star and Exec Producer gives us hope of a different kind of movie than the play by numbers torture porn that Saw movies had become, so we’re happy to wait and see how this new chapter holds up when it hits theaters on May 14th.

A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
