Fast and Furious Franchise star Sung Kang recently gave an interview with Screenrant where his upcoming role in the Disney+ Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi came up in conversation. While what Kang had to say wasn’t earth-shattering, it definitely gives us a better idea of what we’ll be seeing from his time in the series.
“My friends and I would play pretend, we would make our own lightsabers out of toilet paper centers and stuff like that and paper towel cardboard, and to be able to be on set and see Darth Vader and see the Star Wars Universe in front of me, I mean — just as a fan to be able to be part of that history is pretty amazing.”
“I kept pinching myself to go, ‘How did I end up here?”, he added. “And, my character has a lightsaber, to go, ‘What? This is.. It’s not a toy. It’s actually the real thing, right?’ so pretty cool.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi will see the return of both Ewen McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. They’ll be joined by Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.
