We’ll admit that we haven’t seen Star Trek: Discovery, and we have complicated feelings regarding Picard, but we are always going to root for a potentially good scifi show until it gives us a reason not to. As any Star Trek fan knows, before Kirk, there was Christopher Pike. He appeared in the pilot of the original Trek series and his character also appeared in the CBS All-Access Star Trek: Discovery. Now, he’s getting his own series.
The announcement came out today setting a show where Inhumans star, Anson Mount will be playing Christopher Pike along with Ethan Peck, who is reprising his role of Spock from Discovery, and Rebecca Romijn as the ship’s #1. The adventure will take place on the USS Enterprise 10 years before Capt. James Tiberius Kirk takes over the captain’s chair.
There aren’t many details beyond that for now, but it will be interesting to see how the show functions as a direct prequel to the Star Trek Original Series.
