‘Star Trek’ Getting The IMAX Treatment

According to Variety, Paramount will re-release J.J. Abram’s “Star Trek” reboot to almost 100 IMAX locations.

This re-release will run for only two weeks and makes up for it’s original run being cut short due to an IMAX commitment to play “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” instead. It was also forced out due to the running of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

For those who missed out or just want to watch “Star Trek” again, here’s your chance. Of course, “Star Trek” is also expected to hit DVD and Blu-Ray on November 17, 2009. So if you don’t care for the faux IMAX experience (because Star Trek really isn’t a true IMAX film), why not save up and own the movie instead.
