It looks like The Mandalorian isn’t the only live-action series heading to the new Disney Streaming Service. In an announcement that just broke a couple minutes ago, Starwars.com has revealed that the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character would be returning in a new spy thriller for the streaming network.
Given the events of the film, it’s pretty obvious that the new story will be a prequel. The show is set to go into production next year and will focus on Cassian Andor’s adventures as a rebel spy during the “formative years of the rebellion.”
On returning to the role, Luna had this to say:
“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”
Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
