If you thought that the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars meant the end of the animated tales for all of our favorite clones, you thought wrong. Disney+ has now announced that they’ll be spinning “The Bad Batch” squadron featured in the final season into their own show.
Star Wars alum Dave Filoni will executive produce the show about the band of clone troopers who all have special abilities that they were granted through genetic experimentation. Other than the fact that the show is set to launch in 2021, the only thing we really know is that it will take place after the Clone Wars. Here’s what Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+, said about the new show:
“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series. While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”
