While a lot of people were less than thrilled with the amount of backstory we were given for Supreme Leader Snoke’s character in The Last Jedi, there is still more information coming out about the character in other materials related to the film. One such detail is coming to us from the Last Jedi Companion Magazine. In the magazine, this is what it says about the character:
“Force sensitive, and highly attuned to the dark side but not a sith, Snoke has trained Kylo Ren and at least one other apprentice.”
So, what does this mean? It means that there are more Dark Siders out there and there’s a good chance that at least one of them is going to pop up and challenge Kylo Ren for the mantle that was vacated by the removal of Snoke. It gives JJ Abrams a great excuse to bring in the Knights of Ren as Kylo’s personal bodyguards, and it means that the surviving members of the resistance may take a distracted Kylo Ren as the advantage they need to strike a massive blow to the First Order.
Of course, all of this is speculation. We won’t actually know what happens until Star Wars: Episode IX in 2020.
