In news that is both surprising and kind of not surprising, Disney has just announced that Mando and and his little buddy will be making the jump to the big screen sooner than expected in a film that is tentatively titled: ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu.’ While it has not been confirmed that Pedro Pascal will be back to reprise his role as The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau is on board to both direct and produce. We also know that production is slated to begin this year.

Here’s what Favreau had to say about the new movie according to Deadline:

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

While this is interesting news, it brings with it some big questions. Does this mean that Mandalorian season 4 is out and is being replaced by a film? Is this going to wrap up the series? What does this mean for the previously announced Dave Filoni film that is supposed to be the climax of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Thrawn storylines?
