The CW has apparently found the leading candidate to play the lead in its Green Arrow TV series adaptation, “Arrow.”
Stephen Amell (Private Practice, Hung and Vampire Diaries), has been cast as the character made famous by the long-running DC Comics series according to a report by Hollywood Reporter. I’m sure this news is disappointing for fans of Justin Hartley, who played the masked archer on the network’s former superhero show, “Smallville.”
Like the Playboy Bruce Wayne, Amell will play 27-year-old “bad boy” Oliver Queen, who secretly saves the city at night with his special arrows and exceptional marksmanship.
A pilot for “Arrow” had been ordered by The CW earlier this month. Greg Berlantiand Marc Guggenheim, will executive produce and pen the project alongside “Fringe” co-EP Andrew Kreisberg.
