“The Grudge” writer Stephen Susco has reportedly stepped in to pen the screenplay for Tim Seeley’s indie horror series “Hack/Slash” according to Bloody-Disgusting.
Writing horror is nothing new to Susco, who tackles this adaptation with several horror credits already under his belt including the first two “Grudge” movies and the still-in-development “Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.”
This is great news for “Hack/Slash” fans because Susco is a much more natural horror/slasher writer than Justin Marks, who was originally hired to write the script. Marks, who wrote the god-awful “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li” is also credited with the un-filmed “He-Man” and “Voltron” scripts. All of which are more action themed than supernatural and terror. So this is indeed a smart move, even at the cost of “Hack/Slash’s” development.
With the new hire, casting news may soon be on its way as it seems to indicate that things are finally in motion for “Hack/Slash” at Rogue.
