If there’s one thing that everyone wants, it’s a PG-13 version of Suicide Squad. Let’s just ignore the fact that Deadpool out earned Batman v Superman at the box office.
I really can’t fathom what they were thinking here. If ever there’s been a comic book movie that screamed for an R-Rating, it’s the one that stars The Joker and Harley Quinn. It sounds like WB made the choice based on what they are hoping will be strong toy sales.
Meanwhile, for his part, director David Ayer is finishing up the flick while simultaneously prepping his next one, an R-rated science fiction movie, titled Bright, for Netflix. The film has Will Smith and Joel Edgerton in the leading roles.
Suicide Squad hits on August 5th. We’ll see what the fans say then.
