If you haven’t heard by now, Amy Adams (The Fighter) has been cast as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot. But as usual, when it rains it pours, and we have more, albeit less exciting, news on the Superman.
“Superman: Man of Steel” has been reported to have a budget of $175 million. This is about $29 million less than Brian Synder’s “Superman Return” and $10 million less than Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.” But still more than enough to make a fantastic Superman film which stars British actor Henry Cavill.
If all goes to plan, “Man of Steel” will begin filming in Chicago in August to meet its release date of December 2012. Shooting will run for two to three months with production centered in suburban Plano as the semi-rural setting of Smallville. “Man of Steel” will be shot under the code name “Autumn Frost.” Other filming locations will include Vancouver and British Columbia.
Currently, no other casting announcements have been made aside from Cavill, Adams, Diane Lane as Martha “Ma” Kent, and Kevin Costner as Jonathan “Pa” Kent.
