Syfy Planning To Expand ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Franchise

Syfy’s Executive VP of Development Mark Stern said in an interview with THR that The Battlestar Galactica spinoff Caprica will receive a second season despite its weak ratings and lukewarm reviews. Moreover Sten revealed that the network was interested in expanding its Galactica franchise by possibly developing a second Galactica spinoff.

No other details were provided, so it’s safe to assume its all just in the planning stage. But according to Stern, it would “mark a return to the franchise’s space-opera roots.”

Galactica Executive Producer Ronald Moore is slated to work with Syfy on developing the new series. More information as it develops.
