The first teaser just dropped for Seth Rogen’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and it looks like it has potential. From an animation style, this movie is giving us something we’ve never seen for the Turtles. It is 3D, but it also has a very hand-colored look to it that brings in a very warm vibe.
What stands out most in the trailer are the Turtles, who are actually being voiced by real teenagers for the very first time. The result is a teaser that makes it feel like this might be the first TMNT film that puts the emphasis on the T.
Between Invincible, The Preacher, and The Boys, Seth Rogen has proven himself to be more than capable of handling adaptations of comic books. when you add to that the fact that the film is being directed by Jeff Rowe, the same guy who helmed ‘Mitchells vs The Machines.’ we’re just excited to hear more. Sadly, we’re also already bored at the upcoming faux outrage over the race swap of April O’Neil to a black woman voiced by ‘The Bear’ star Ayo Edebiri. It will be curious to see if there’s the same level of outrage when people realize that Leatherhead has been gender-swapped and will now be voiced by Rose Byrne.
