While fans wait optimistically for the Star Wars series Andor to drop on Disney+ later this month, development is moving hard and fast on the upcoming Acolyte series. Now, Deadline is reporting that they are now in talks with Jodie Turner-Smith for a role in the new show.
Turner-Smith joins a cast that currently also includes Amandla Stenberg, who has been cast as the lead. No other casting information has been released from the series by Russian Doll creator, Leslye Headland.
The Acolyte has been pretty slim on details in general, but here is what Deadline had to say about the upcoming series:
The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era, Disney+ said in its December 2020 announcement. In the Star Wars universe, an acolyte can refer to individuals with force abilities who learn from a more experienced Sith Lord.
