Before you get too excited, don’t get your hopes set on a scene featuring movie characters from different film studios. According to Variety, this is all just a political move to make FOX happy after Marc Webb decided to direct Amazing Spider-Man 2 before filling his contractual obligation to make another movie for FOX after his first film, 500 Days of Summer.
To make them happy, Sony agreed to add a clip from X-Men: Days of Future Past onto the end of the film as a form of free advertising. The clip will feature Mystique, Havok, and Toad.
Here’s the good news. Maybe this will piss fans off enough that they start to really push for more inter-studio collaboration. How else will we ever get a decent adaptation of the Infinity Gauntlet?!?
