Things were starting to look up for the movie industry. Tenent is out in theaters. Movies and TV shows were starting to ramp production back up, but now something has happened that could put the brakes on a lot of the forward movement in the industry. Vanity Fair is now reporting that The Batman, which has just started production up again has had to put filming on hold because Robert Pattinson has tested positive for COVID-19.
You can expect to see a ton of Batman/ COVID memes in the coming days, as Batman’s mask covers every part of his face other than the part you’d want covered to protect you from the virus, but this could have pretty significant ramifications. We hope that the infection didn’t get a chance to spread through the cast and crew and that Pattinson makes a speedy and full recovery. As of right now, The Batman is still slated for a 2021 release.
