It has already been confirmed that Michael Arndt is writing Star Wars Episode 7, but we are now hearing some seriously awesome news about who will be penning the scripts for Episode 8 and 9. It is now being tossed around that Simon Kinberg, the director of X-Men First Class is going to have some involvement in the film as a writer and a producer. The even cooler part that Lawrence Kasdan, the screenwriter for The Empire Strikes Back, is now also confirmed as having been hired to work on the script.
At first I was just thrilled that Lucas wouldn’t be writing or directing the films, but now that we’ve got the guy who made the best X-Men film and the guy who made the best Star Wars film… Let’s just say that I know what I’ll be thankful for at the dinner table tomorrow.
