One of the most interesting announcements to come out of NYCC today was the teaser for The Electric State, a new Netflix film that we honestly hadn’t heard of before today. As crazy as the dystopian imagery from the teaser is, it’s everything else that is really blowing us away.

To start off with, the film stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, along with a supporting cast that includes Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci as well as Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo, and Alan Tudyk in voice roles.

If that wasn’t enough, we have some serious potential magic happening behind the camera with a major MCU reunion. The Russo Bros are directing the film based on a screenplay written by Infinity War/ Avengers: End Game scribes – Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Set in the aftermath of a robot uprising in an alternate version of the ’90s, The Electric State follows an orphaned teenager who ventures across the American West with a cartoon-inspired robot, a smuggler, and his sidekick in search of her younger brother. The film stars Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, with Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci. Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo and Alan Tudyk join the cast in voice roles. THE ELECTRIC STATE premieres globally on Netflix MARCH 14.
