the trailer just dropped for The Hyperions, an indie superhero movie starring Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride/ Saw/ Psych), Penelope Mitchell, Alphonso McAuley, Cobra Kai‘s Tanner Buchanan, Elaine Tan, and Keli Price. In the new film, which looks like it’s set in the 70s, tells the story of a group of heroes who lost their jobs and their powers and are willing to do whatever it takes from the next generation that has replaced them.
The movie was made by Saban Films, but the distribution rights were purchased by The Daily Wire, which has recently entered into the world of movies with films like Gina Carano’s upcoming Terror on the Prairie. The Hyperions is set for a March 10, 2022 release.
A twisted take on classic Disney, combining live-action and animation, THE HYPERIONS is an inventive, imaginative superhero film like no other. Famous, beloved, and endowed with unique superpowers by Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum’s “Titan badges,” the young trio of superheroes were adored and admired for their courageous, globe-hopping actions. But over the years, as egos bruised and resentments developed, the professor replaced the team with newer members. Years later, two of the original teen crime-fighters want their powers restored and they’ll stop at almost nothing to get them back. THE HYPERIONS is a fantastically fun superhero action comedy throwback.
