‘The Muppets Live Another Day’ Will Not Live On At Disney+

Until today, there were two Muppet projects in the works for the soon to launch Disney+ streaming network. Now, Muppets: Live Another Day has died. For the last year, the series has been under development by Josh Gad and Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis.

Set in the 80s, the series was planned as a direct sequel to Muppet Take Manhattan and would focus on Kermit having to bring the band back together again after they broke up (yes, it does sound a bit familiar). However, it looks like creative differences between the writing team and Disney execs have proven to be insurmountable and all parties have decided that it is probably best to just walk away.
