We’ve been talking about the prospect of and the progress on a third Bill and Ted movie for almost as long as Youbentmywookie as been in existence. Now word has come through (via Twitter) from Bill S. Preston Esq. himself, Alex Winter that the script is complete.
“Script done? Check. -We love it? Check. -Green light? Working on it!”
So now it just remains to be seen if it will get greenlit. Our guess is that Keanu Reeves will probably have to leverage a multi-picture deal with a studio to get Bill and Ted 3 included on the slate. If that’s what it takes, we hope he does it, the world needs one more ride in the telephone booth.
Here is what Keanu has previously said about the project.
“When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened. So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”
