The TV remake of Stephen King’s The Stand is loading up on talent today with multiple new casting announcements for the post-apocalyptic drama. First up on the list is Alexander Skarsgard, who has just been cast as the man in black, Mr. Randall Flagg.
Joining Skarsgard are newly announced cast members Whoopi Goldberg is set to star alongside Jovan Adepo (When They See Us), Owen Teague (Mrs. Fletcher), Brad William Henke (Orange is the New Black) and Daniel Sunjata (Rescue Me). Gloldberg is slated to play the prophet, Mother Abagail, Adepo is playing the troubled musician -Larry Underwood, Teague is playing Harold Lauder, Henke will play the developmentally challenged Tom Cullen, Sunjata will play Cobb, a member of the military working with Stu.
They join a previously announced cast that includes James Marsden (Stu Redman), Amber Heard (Nadine Cross), Odessa Young (Frannie Goldsmith), and Henry Zaga (Nick Andros). We’ll have more news for you as updates warrant.
