Amazon Prime just dropped their full trailer for the upcoming film, The Tomorrow War starring Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, JK Simmons,  Sam Richardson, and Betty Gilpin. The story is simple. In the future, giant alien scorpions are destroying earth. The only way to stop them to is to go back in time, gather up people, and bring them back to the future to serve in the infantry. Sure, you could just go back to the past and better prepare to stave off an invasion, or you might wonder what kind of damage to the timeline using your ancestors could do, but then you wouldn’t have a movie. Admittedly, there’s always holes that can be poked in any time travel adventure, so it’s all going to come down to the execution. We’ll find out if they’ve pulled it off when The Tomorrow War hits Amazon Prime on July 2nd.

Along with all the above-mentioned cast, the film also features: Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong , Keith Powers, Seychelle Gabriel, Mike Mitchell, and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.
