‘The Toxic Avenger’ New Images of Peter Dinklage, Elijah Wood, Kevin Bacon

The classic Troma film, The Toxic Avenger is not a good movie, but it’s also kind of a great movie. The dirty, B-Movie about a janitor turned monster became the shining star of Troma Studios. The film was so popular that despite the blood, violence, and abundance of female nudity, it spawned a successful children’s cartoon and toy line.

Now Toxie is back, this time being played by Peter Dinklage in a film that also stars Elijah Wood, Kevin Bacon, Jane Levy, Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Niles, and Taylour Paige.

Peter Dinklage stars as downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze who, after falling into a vat of toxic waste, becomes none other than The Toxic Avenger. This timely reimagining is up to its eyeballs in environmental themes as Winston goes up against the evil forces of greed and corruption to save his son, his friends, and his community. Even as this story exists on its own terms, the spirit undoubtedly remains connected to the original. Troma fans old and new will be pleased to know that the film has been rated “R” for violence and gore – as per Troma tradition.”
