The Walking Dead has already filmed its finale and we know that there are at least two sequels in the works. The first is the Daryl Dixon/ Carol Peletier spin-off starring Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus and the second is a spin-off about Maggie and Negan going to NYC. When it comes to the former, there’s now a major snag in the production as it has now been announced that Melissa McBride has had to quit the production due to relocation issues.

“Melissa McBride has given life to one of the most interesting, real, human and popular characters in The Walking Dead Universe. Unfortunately, she is no longer able to participate in the previously announced spinoff focused on the Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier characters, which will be set and filmed in Europe this summer and premiere next year. Relocating to Europe became logistically untenable for Melissa at this time. We know fans will be disappointed by this news, but The Walking Dead Universe continues to grow and expand in interesting ways and we very much hope to see Carol again in the near future.”

This leads to several pretty big questions. Will the show continue with just Daryl Dixon? Will they swap out Carol with another character who survived the finale? Do they have to go back and reshoot some of The Walking Dead finale? Does the fact that they are going to Europe tie in with the finale of The Walking Dead: World Beyond? There’s a pretty good chance that we’ll get some answers, but we aren’t expecting any of them until Comic-Con later this summer.
